Multilingual Policies Forum. March 2027. Poznan

Published on December 18, 2025

The Multilingual Policies Forum in Poznań will be a five-day meeting space for everyone working to support Europe’s minority, minoritised, and endangered languages. Bringing together researchers, activists, educators, language planners, policymakers, and young people, the forum will explore how language policies are shaped both from above – by governments and institutions – and from below, through the everyday work of communities, schools, families, and grassroots initiatives.

Our contribution focuses on understanding which language policies truly help linguistic capital grow and where current approaches still fall short. We look at policies across education, law, media, the economy, and social life, and at how they work at different levels, from European institutions to local communities and individual speakers. By sharing examples and best practices from Europe and beyond, the forum aims to strengthen cooperation, encourage democratic participation, and empower a new generation of language advocates to help shape the future of Europe’s endangered languages.
