Work Package 8 brings together all results of the FOSTERLANG project to create the Linguistic Capital Roadmap – a practical and forward-looking framework for strengthening linguistic diversity and sustainability in Europe.
The Roadmap integrates insights from research, policy analysis, and community engagement to provide concrete recommendations for educators, NGOs, policymakers, and local communities. It aims to promote equitable, inclusive, and community-based approaches to language revitalisation, multilingual education, and cultural empowerment.
WP8 also connects the project’s work with global initiatives such as the UNESCO International Decade of Indigenous Languages (2022–2032), ensuring that Europe’s efforts to protect and promote minoritised languages contribute to the wider international agenda of linguistic justice.
By combining theoretical knowledge with local experience, WP8 will propose sustainable strategies for language protection, intergenerational transmission, and socio-economic inclusion. The Roadmap will serve as a long-term reference tool to guide future European and national actions on linguistic diversity.
WP8 is led by Dr. Davyth Hicks (ELEN) with the assistance of Univ. of Warsaw.
